Rapid
Transit
(released October 1, 2008)
The binding
theme of this all-instrumental project was to keep it traditional sounding,
but with added twists and hooks to augment interest. “More Blues
For Carter” expands a theme from A.P. Carter’s “Carter’s
Blues.” “Haystack Rag” is a polka in a bluegrass groove,
whereas “Big E’s Polka” is as oom-pah as it gets. Eddie
plays banjo, guitar, mandolin and bass. Mike Montgomery helps out on fiddle
and Billy Bright: adds some hot mandolin. Amy Collins plays flute on "Angeline
The Baker." An ideal rapid transit system should provide you with
quick travel when needed, but also intereting out-of-the-way destinations.
Hop on board and enjoy the ride!

Rise & Shine
Nationally recognized
author/instructor of 5-string banjo and acoustic guitar styles, Eddie
makes a statement of simplicity - using only guitar, banjo and voice to
summon a musical feeling that'll have you willing to Rise and Shine on
the dreariest of mornings. (Released April 2002.)
Testimonials
"...full of entertaining
material...even old tunes take on a new life... Collins' vocals are warm,
with a pleasing resonance - occasionally reminiscent of John Hartford's
mellow stylings. This CD is pleasurable listening."
--Eddie and Martha Adcock
"...unpretentious
music that draws the listener in. It reminds me not so much of a fancy
banquet as an enjoyable, satisfying breakfast with friends at your favorite
local diner."
--Pete Wernick (Dr. Banjo)

Guitar
Slingers & Texas Music
A respected author
of banjo instruction, Eddie sets aside the 5-string and returns to his
guitar and songwriting roots. The flavor of songs ranges from the blues
of Jimmie Rogers to Bob Wills style swing. While true slinging is kept
to a minimum to protect the innocent, many of the songs were first written
as guitar instrumentals with lyrics aded later to fit the essence of the
tune. (Released November, 1998.)
