Hank Williams Tunes For Bluegrass Banjo

Most folks who love bluegrass also love the music of Hank Williams, even though none of his recordings have banjo them--be it four or five strings. Whereas Bill Monroe got his edge from performing tunes at breakneck speeds, Williams created an edge through his whining vocals. Blues and gospel heavily influenced both musicians. One nice feature of Hank Williams' music is that the tunes don't have to be performed fast to be enjoyable. This allows the learner to get tunes up to performance speed much quicker than a typical breakdown piece. In all, this book contains a good mix of easy to challenging pieces to provide hours of enjoyable picking. Solos include parts for verse and chorus (or bridge). Comes with a practice CD containing slow and fast tracks with guitar accompaniment.
