Gospel Greats For Banjo

This book contains 40 well-loved hymns that have withstood the test of time. Most of the solos will be easily accessible to intermediate level players. On a few tunes, unique techniques are involved to recreate the sound of an organ accompanying Sunday morning hymns. The bulk of the tunes can be played using common Scruggs style technique. Many of these songs have never previously been arranged for banjo. All of the pieces are performed in common keys and no retuning (from standard G tuning) is necessary. The tablature is large print and easy to read with lyrics given below the melody notes. The songs are performed on the CD with rhythm guitar accompaniment.
